Motto

Objective

The National Service Scheme is an Indian government-sponsored public service program conducted by the Department of Youth Affairs and Sports of the Government of India.

  • The NSS unit of Dadasaheb Rawal College was started in 1984.
  • Every year 150 students are enrolled / registered, with more than 50% participation of girl students.
  • Students are expected to dedicate 120 hours for social work and attend the camp during the year.
  • Certificates are awarded to students who satisfactorily complete the attendance norms.

Programs:

The extension activities of NSS are our representatives spreading message of national integrity. NSS unit of college organizes a winter camp in a nearby village on a theme provided by university. Besides this it also conducts number of community developmental services such as:

  • Building in kitty weir in an adopted village.
  • Blood donation camp.
  • Water literacy (Jal Saksharata).
  • Street play on AIDS awareness.
  • Campus cleaning.
  • Mahila Melava, it includes child nurture and women’s mental and health hygiene program.
  • Tree plantation.
  • Dental hygiene awareness in rural inhabitants.
  • Animal health inspection.
  • National & Cultural Festivals.
  • Awareness drive on eradication of superstitions.
  • Eradication of weeds.
  • Anti-open defecation drive (Hagandari Mukti Yojana).
  • Promotion to Cashless transaction; a digital literacy.
  • Swachha Bharat Abhiyan.
  • Beti Bachav, Beti Padhav.
  • Literacy mission

Incentives to NSS Volunteer:

NSS volunteers are awarded special 15 grace marks after successful completion of 2-year program with winter camp in the university exams.
